饭后人体血液大多集中于胃等消化器官，胃肠活动相对活跃，如果此时吃冷饮，胃壁粘膜血管相应收缩，消化腺分泌减少，胃的活动减弱，难以对食物进行消化，形成饱胀状态，产生不适感。从生物化学角度来讲，消化酶最活跃的温度是37℃~38℃，冷饮进入胃肠后会减弱消化液中各种消化酶对食物的消化作用，久之会引起胃炎和消化不良、营养不良。
